USGCC Healy Dive Accident Final Report

On 17 August 2006 three Coast Guard divers from the Coast Guard Cutter Healy attempted a cold water familiarization dive in minus 29 degree Artic water 490 nautical miles north of Barrow, Alaska.  Two of the divers died.  Although most recreational divers do not dive in these extremes, the detailed Coast Guard investigation reports offer lessons for all divers.  Below are links to the Coast Guard investigation documentation and other articles related to the accident.
